Basic Water Softener Maintenance
To protect your water softener, and ensure you're getting the best water possible, it is important to keep up with basic maintenance. Here are some steps you can take to take care of your softener:
Cover the plastic on top of the valve
Never add more than two bags of salt or potassium at a time
Clean tanks that use salt every 2 years
Clean tanks that use potassium every 3 months
