Choosing A Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System
All reverse osmosis units give similar water quality when they’re brand new. As they age however, the main filter, the membrane will start to become plugged up with contaminants. It will then remove fewer and fewer contaminants from the water, so your water quality drops off. On very “cheap” reverse osmosis units, this can happen in less than a year. On better, more expensive systems, this drop off can take over ten years to occur. The more frequent the membrane changes, the more expense you incur over time.
When choosing a reverse osmosis unit, equipment cost is just one of the things to consider. Long term operating costs like filters, membranes, service calls and warranties all factor in to the true cost of the equipment.
The chart below was designed to make it easy for you to compare models, features and capabilities of the unit we sell. We specifically carry these mid to higher priced models because they have proven to be the best long term choice for better drinking water.
